(1890). Lee wrote largely in English as a British expatriate from continental Europe. Born in France, at Château St Leonard in Boulogne on 14 October 1856 to Henry Ferguson Paget and Matilda Lee-Hamilton, she spent the majority of her life in Italy, where she is most associated with Villa il Palmerino in Florence, her long-time residence, and San Gervasio, where she died on 13 February 1935.
