Grace Nichols, of Guyana, is a major Afro-Caribbean author and a highly respected poet in England, where she has lived since 1977. Her poetry is included on the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) English literature syllabus for the United Kingdom. She is also a popular and prolific children’s author.
