Andrew Michael Roberts

Andrew Michael Roberts is Professor of Modern Literature in the School of Humanities at the University of Dundee, where he teaches 20th- and 21st-century literature and culture, including courses on ‘Digital Poetry’ and on ‘Vision in Film, Literature and Culture’. His research interests include: poetry since 1950, especially the work of Geoffrey Hill and avant-garde / ‘linguistically innovative’ poetry; Modernist poetry and fiction, especially the works of Mina Loy and Joseph Conrad; theories of masculinity and psychoanalytical theory; poetry and cognitive processes; digital poetry and electronic literature. He was Principal Investigator for the AHRC Beyond Text project, Poetry Beyond Text: Vision, Text and Cognition. His books include Conrad and Masculinity(Palgrave, 2000), Geoffrey Hill (Writers and Their Work series, Northcote House, 2004) and (with Jonathan Allison) Poetry and Contemporary Culture: the Question of Value (Edinburgh University Press, 2002).
