Irene Hossack

Irene Hossack undertook postgraduate studies at Monash University, Melbourne, after completing her undergraduate degree at Deakin University, Geelong, Australia. Her Masters research was on the poetry of Charles Simic with the thesis entitled Charles Simic: Between Hermeneutics and Poetics. Her doctoral thesis is a study on the poetry of Geoffrey Hill, entitled Geoffrey Hill and the Question of Difficulty. She currently teaches Creative Writing and English Language courses at the Open University. Current research interests include the recent poetry of Geoffrey Hill and the changes to Hill's oeuvre the poems reflect, quantum physics and the possibility of its poetic expression. Irene writes poetry, short stories and reviews and her work has been published in British, Australian and American journals.
