Marc J. Schweissinger

Marc Schweissinger is a Lecturer in German and Director of Learning and Teaching at the School of Modern Languages, Cardiff University. Before he came to Cardiff he worked at the German Department at the University of Kassel in in Germany as a Research Assistant and Lecturer in the field of Modern German Literature and Language. At Cardiff University he started as a Foreign Language Assistant for German in the year 2001, since than he became a Language Tutor and later a University Teacher at the School of Modern Languages, since autumn 2018 I am a Lecturer. Besides his teaching and research responsibilities, he deals with various administrative duties, curriculum design and other obligations. He holds a distinguished track record of research in the field of modern German literature. His primary research interests lies in modern German literature,- literary studies, comparative literature and linguistics and translation studies.He is the Chairman of the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Gesellschaft, a member of the Goethe-Society, a member of ESRA Shakespeare-Society and a member of the Günter de Bruyn-Society.
