Hazel McNair Hutchison
Hazel Hutchison (MA, PhD) has lectured in British and American Literature at the University of Aberdeen since 2001 and is taking up a post at the University of Leeds in September 2021. Her research focuses on fiction and poetry of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She is the author of The War That Used Up Words: American Writers in a European War (New Haven, Yale 2014), Seeing and Believing: Henry James and the Spiritual World (New York: Palgrave, 2006), Brief Lives: Henry James (London: Hesperus, 2012), and Write Great Essays and Dissertations (London: Hodder, 2007 and 2010). She has also edited Mary Borden's First World War memoir The Forbidden Zone (London: Hesperus, 2008) and a collection of poems about Aberdeen with Alan Spence, Silver: An Aberdeen Anthology (Edinburgh: Polygon, 2009). She is currently editing a volume of shorter fiction from the 1890s for the forthcoming Cambridge Edition of the Complete Fiction of Henry James.
