Kate Mitchell
Dr Kate Mitchell holds a PhD in literary studies from the University of Melbourne and a BA in English and history from the Australian National University. She is currently lecturer in English Literature at the Australian National University. Her research is focused on nineteenth and twentieth century literary and cultural history, with a particular interest in neo-Victorian fiction and historical recollection in fictional narrative. She has published a number of articles that examine the representation of history and historical recollection in novels by Graham Swift, A.S. Byatt, Kate Grenville and Gail Jones. Her monograph, 'History and Cultural Memory in Neo-Victorian Fiction: Victorian Afterimages' was published by Palgrave in 2010.
