Bronwen Martin

Dr Bronwen Martin is Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of European Cultures and Languages, Birkbeck College, University of London, England. She has taught contemporary European and world literature at Birkbeck for many years and is a specialist in the works of the Franco-Maurician Nobel prize winner J.M.G.Le Clézio. Her publications include The Fiction of J.M.G.Le Clézio: A Postcolonial Reading Semiotics and Storytelling: An Introduction to Semiotic Analysis (Philomel,1997), The Search for Gold: Space and Meaning in J.M.G.Le Clezio (Philomel, 1995) and Le Clezio: Le Proces-verbal: A Critical Guide (University of Glasgow French and German Publications,2005). She is co-author of French Discourse Analysis (Philomel, 2000) and Key Terms in Semiotics (Continuum, 2006). She has also contributed articles to the Encyclopedia of Literary Critics and Criticism (Fitzroy Dearborn, 1999) and to the Encyclopedia of the Romantic Era (Fitzroy Dearborn, 2004). She is Secretary of the Marguerite Duras Society.
