Kate Maxwell
Kate Maxwell is associate professor in music history at the
University of Tromsø, Norway. She researches popular and medieval
music, literature, and visual culture. She was previously a
postdoctoral researcher in Multimodality and Cultural Change at the
University of Agder, Norway, with a project that applied the
concept of multimodality to medieval manuscritpts as they are
viewed in the digital age. In 2009 she was awarded her PhD for a
thesis entitled 'Guillaume de Machaut and the mise en page
of medieval French sung verse' by the departments of French and
Music at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. You can visit her
