Anthony John Hassall
Anthony J. Hassall is Emeritus Professor of English Literature at James Cook University and Honorary Research Consultant at the University of Queensland. He has published widely on Australian Literature and Eighteenth-Century English Literature, including Henry Fielding's Tom Jones (Sydney University Press 1979), Strange Country: A Study of Randolph Stow 2nd edn, (University of Queensland Press 1990), Randolph Stow, Visitants . . .stories, interviews, and essays(University of Queensland Press 1990), and Dancing on Hot Macadam: Peter Carey's Fiction 3rd edn (University of Queensland Press 1998). He is the Founding General Editor of the University of Queensland Press's Studies in Australian Literature Series. Current research Interests: recent Australian fiction including Peter Carey, David Malouf and Tim Winton.
