Jay Corwin
Jay Corwin is Senior Lecturer of Spanish at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. He received his PhD in Spanish from Florida State University in 1995. His first book was La transposición de fuentes indígenas en Cien años de soledad [The Transposition of Indigenous Sources in One Hundred Years of Solitude], (Romance Monographs number 52, 1997). He was invited to give a keynote presentation in Lima, Peru to mark the fortieth anniversary of the publication of One Hundred Years of Solitude. His list of publications includes articles on One Hundred Years of Solitude, Like Water for Chocolate, Pedro Páramo, and Borges' Ficciones. His second book is Gabriel García Marquez: Readers' Guide to Essential Criticism (London: Palgrave/MacMillan, 2016). He serves on the editorial board of Theory in Action, a scholarly journal, for which has he guest-edited and co-edited several literary editions.
