Herbert William Connor

After teaching at the University of New Brunswick and the University of British Columbia, Professor William Connor joined the Department of English and Film Studies at the University of Alberta in 1982. In addition to his work in English, he has served the University in a variety of administrative roles, including Associate Dean of Arts (Student Programs and Planning), Dean of Students, Interim Dean of the Faculty of Extension, Associate Vice-President (Academic), and Vice-Provost. Research interests include American and Canadian literature and composition and rhetoric. In addition to articles, his publications include successful anthologies and writing textbooks and The Achievement of Gerald Warner Brace. He is currently working on a book-length study of David Adams Richards’ fictional world.
