Frederika Randall
Frederika Randall is a US-born cultural journalist and literary translator who lives in Rome, Italy. Her translations from the Italian include Luigi Meneghello’s Deliver Us (Chicago: Northwestern, 2011), introduction by the translator; Sergio Luzzatto’s The Body of Il Duce and Padre Pio: Miracles and Politics in a Secular Age (New York: Metropolitan, 2005 and 2010); Ottavio Cappellani’s Sicilian Tragedee (New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2008); Helena Janeczek's The Swallows of Monte Cassino (Washington DC: Scarith, 2013) and Confessions of An Italian by Ippolito Nievo (London: Penguin Classics, 2014). She has been awarded a Bogliasco fellowship, a PEN translation fund grant and, along with historian Sergio Luzzatto, the Cundill Prize. She has written extensively about the arts and Italian popular culture for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Nation, l'Internazionale, and many other publications.
