Scott Krawczyk

Scott Krawczyk is a retired Brigadier General in the U.S. Army and former Head of the Department of English and Philosophy at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Currently, he is a Lecturer in 18th century history, philosophy, and literature at Georgetown University and a division director at the National Endowment for the Humanities. His research focuses on eighteenth-century and Romantic British literature, with a particular emphasis on Anna Barbauld and the collaborative networks that emerged among Dissenters. His secondary research interest addresses literary and artistic representations of soldiers (particularly wounded/maimed soldiers), soldiering, and post-war reintegration during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He is the author of Romantic Literary Families (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009) and is co-editing, with Daniel Robinson, Volume I of The Collected Works of Anna Letitia Barbauld: Essays and Political Writings (under contract with Oxford UP). He is also a contributor to the newly published Anna Letitia Barbauld: New Perspectives (Bucknell UP, 2013). His articles and reviews have appeared in the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies, Studies in Romanticism, The Wordsworth Circle, Religion and Literature, and the Keats-Shelley Review.
