Emir Delic

Emir Delic is Professor of French at the Université Sainte-Anne (Canada) where he teaches courses in French language and culture. Anchored in a dual onto-anthropological and socio-semiotic perspective, his research centers on literary representations of identity and alterity in the Francophone literatures of Canada. His current work focuses more specifically on the minority subject’s relationship to time as depicted in French-Canadian poetry, prose and theatre published post-1970. His other research interests include cultural and literary theory, memory studies, philosophical approaches to literature, and poetics of literary genres (essays, storytelling, travel writing). Dr. Delic has presented his research findings at various invited lectures and conferences in Canada, the United States and Europe, and has contributed papers to several collective works and journals. Among his recent publications is Altérations des frontières, frontières des altérations. Le paradoxe des espaces frontaliers dans les littératures franco-canadiennes (Éditions David, 2018), a collective volume he co-edited with Dr. Julie Delorme.
