Marta Mamet-Michalkiewicz

Marta Mamet-Michalkiewicz is an assistant professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, in the Institute of English Cultures and Literatures. She defended her Ph.D. dissertation in literary studies in 2009. She is the author of the book Between the Orient and the Occident: Transformations of The Thousand and One Nights (2011). She has also published articles on postcolonial literature, cultural aspects of translation and contemporary English literatures. Her main research interests include cultural translation, postcolonial literature and theory (exile, migrancy, diaspora) and Orientalism in the Western humanities.
