Daniel Golembeski
Dan Golembeski's interest in French-based cultures and languages began in high school and on a trip to Quebec when he was 16; it has led him to teach, conduct research, and translate. He has taught at Dumont d'Urville High School in Toulon, France; Indiana University; the University of Southern Indiana; and Grand Valley State University. His research focuses on life and language in French-speaking communities across Northern Ontario, Canada. He has traveled to other areas where French exists alongside other languages, especially islands, such as Corsica, Haiti, Mayotte, and Martinique. As a free-lance translator, he has a special interest in travelogues (Bernard OLLIVIER, Longue marche, Phébus-Skyhorse), science-fiction (Pierre BORDAGE, Dames blanches, L'Atalante), business management (François DUPUY, The Customer's Victory, Macmillan), and a variety of other works, including poetry and works on the environment. He resides in Petoskey, in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, USA.
