Eleanor Careless
Dr. Eleanor Careless holds a PhD from the University of Sussex, and a MPhil and BA from Queens’ College, University of Cambridge. She is an Associate Tutor within the School of English at the University of Sussex. Her current research focuses on representations of imprisonment in writing (especially poetry) by women in the twentieth century. Eleanor was a research fellow as part of the AHRC’s International Placement Scheme at the Library of Congress (2016), the recipient of a Literary Encyclopedia Travel Award (2017), the winner of a British Modernist Studies Association essay prize (2017), and held a CHASE studentship throughout her PhD. She has publications forthcoming from Palgrave (2019), Modernist Cultures (2019) and College Literature (2020).
