Daniela Shalom Vagata
Daniela Shalom Vagata is currently Assistant professor of Italian literature at Masaryk University and Adjunct professor of Italian language and culture at Bologna University. She also taught and researched Italian language and literature at several universities, including Kyoto University, Indiana University, USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium) Reggio Emilia and University of Georgia Cortona Abroad Program in Italy. She is a scholar of Italian literature with an interdisciplinary approach to the study of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth centuries literature and arts. In particular, her research sheds light on Ugo Foscolo’s unfinished poem Inni alle Grazie. She has also published on Eugenio Montale’s prose, Dante’s Vita nova, Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa’s work and on the cinema of Visconti and Fellini. She also writes about Japanese contemporary art and society in arts and culture magazines and e-zines, including Argo and Artribune.
