Mariam Zarif

I am currently based at King's College London and my current research is on the New Woman and New Journalism. My work focuses on the New Woman as represented in women’s penny weeklies in the late nineteenth century. I am particularly interested in the role of male editors who edited women’s magazines under female pseudonyms. I have recently contributed a chapter on Netta Syrett in Women’s Human Rights in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture (2020).
