Lucille Raynal

Lucille Raynal has recently completed her PhD at the School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics, University College Dublin. Her work focuses primarily on the specificity of the space of several Eighteenth-century French businesswomen, such as the scientist Émilie Du Châtelet or the portraitist Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun.

She published two articles ("Emilie du Châtelet" and "Emilie du Châtelet: The Correspondence of Emilie du Châtelet") and a chapter book (Dwelling and exile: Vigée Le Brun and the tools of her trade" in Dwelling: Cultural Representations of Inhabited Places, ed. by Orsolya Katalin Pet and Naomi Segal, Palgrave Macmillan, 2024).
