Malay Bera

Malay Bera is a PhD student in English at Ashoka University, India. He is writing his thesis on gender and nationalism in fairy tales from colonial Bengal. He studied Folklore at the University of Tartu as a DoRa Plus visiting PhD student. He has an MA in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and a BA (Honours) in English from the University of Calcutta. Alongside carrying out research on fairy tales and legends, currently he is also working on a digital storytelling project with TED-Ed to visualize a Bengali fairy tale in animation.
