American writer Lorrie Moore has achieved recognition as one of the most powerful storytellers of her generation. She has been the recipient of several awards and fellowships and her stories regularly appear in anthologies. Moore regards herself primarily as a story writer but has also written two celebrated novels. Praise for Moore centres on her balance of humor and pathos.
