Józef Tischner is one of the most important intellectual figures of the last decades of the twentieth century in Poland. He was a Catholic priest and an excellent philosopher who united two dimensions of spirituality: a deep religiosity and an exceptional skill in perceptive reasoning. His intellectual work and pastoral duties often intertwined with each other, and they were his main areas of activity.
