Myrna Kostash is a Canadian full-time non-fiction writer. She was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and Edmonton is her home now when she is not travelling or touring. She studied at the universities of Alberta, Washington, and Toronto and completed her MA degree in Russian Language and Literature in 1968. She began her writing career as a freelance journalist in Toronto before relocating back to Alberta. She is the author of nearly a dozen books of literary nonfiction, including the classic
