Shauna Singh Baldwin is a transnational author born in Canada to Sikh parents, raised in India, and now living in the United States. She has stated that she hates purity with a passion and that she loves the hybrid world (Methot 1999: online). Her literary works confirm this statement, as they often depict cross-cultural encounters, presenting travelers, migrants and exiles, individuals who have hybrid cultural identities moving in an increasingly globalized world. She is the author of two short story collections,
English Lessons and Other Stories(1996) and
We Are Not in Pakistan(2007), and two novels,
What The Body Remembers(1999) and
