Tendai Huchu is the author of many short stories and two novels that embrace a large variety of different styles and genres. In 2010 he published his first novel
The Hairdresser of Harareto critical and popular acclaim and has since completed his second novel,
The Maestro, The Magistrate & The Mathematician(2014). Huchu’s versatile writing and perceptive depictions of both contemporary Scotland and Zimbabwe have instantaneously made him a successful writer whose novels are read in a number of countries and translations.
Huchu was born on the 28th of September 1982 in Bindura, a mining village 88 kilometres north-east of Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital and the setting of Huchu’s debut novel. After attending Churchhill High School in Harare, Huchu studied Mining Engineering at the
