In Polish literature of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Marian Pankowski stands out as a unique, multifaceted phenomenon, not only because of the many literary genres that he practiced over the course of a literary career spanning more than six decades, but also in view of the specificity of the literary language he created and developed in these various genres. Pankowski is an artist with a charismatic and seductive personality, which corresponds to the unusual, often provocative and even scandalous literary œuvre that he left behind.
