The “Lexeis Rhomaiai” is a medieval Latin-Greek dictionary. It is preserved in one manuscript, cod. Barocc. gr. 50 under the title Λέξεις Ῥωμαῖαι κατὰ στοιχεῖον. According to the testimony of Ada Adler, it contains both juridical and non-juridical words (Adler 1931: 695). In its present form, the dictionary contains many corrupt explanations and entries (Adler 1931: 696), a fact which raises suspicions that an initially robust lexicon (probably compiled during the later antiquity) underwent a process of curtailing and of textual deterioration in the hands of copyists who were totally ignorant of Latin.

The extant form of the lexicon in Barocc. gr. 50 is most probably an epitome. A fuller version of the lexicon was used in the 10th century AD by the
