The movement of people from the territories that are now Italy to those that are currently known as Canada began during the Age of Exploration and has generated, through the centuries, a rich variety of documentary and creative textual products. Though the category of Italian-Canadian writing emerged in the 1970s, its roots can be traced to the year 1653 with Francesco Giuseppe Bressani’s Breve relatione d’alcune missioni de’ PP.
