In 1977, Apple Computer Inc., founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Woxniak, introduced the first personal computer (Apple II) to the American market. Radio Shack and Commodore Business Machines also introduced personal computers to the market in 1977. These computers used 8-bit microprocessors and possessed limited storage capacity. In 1981, International Business Machines launched its own version of the personal computer.
