Towards the end of September 1891, William Morris printed his
Poems by the Wayas one of the earliest volumes done at his Kelmscott Press, which he had recently founded to produce beautiful books by using methods developed by the earliest European printers. The volume was soon associated with another of Morris's books of poetry,
Love Is Enough(first published in 1872), for the two were printed in one volume by Longmans, Green in 1896, the year of Morris's death, and Morris' daughter, May, again coupled them when she edited in 1911 Volume 9 of Morris's
Collected Works.
