Shoot! The Notebooks of Serafino Gubbio, Cinematograph Operator(
I quaderni di Serafino Gubbio operatore), was published in 1925, after it originally appeared as
Shoot!(
Si gira…) in 1915 in the literary journal
Nuova Antologia. The two versions present slight differences in style more than in content, with minor cuts and additions that do not alter the plot. The changes Pirandello made in the two editions are detailed in the footnotes to the Meridiani edition of his novels edited by Giovanni Macchia in collaboration with Mario Costanzo, which are now collected in the second volume of
