Journey from Naples to the Holy Land] is a poem that the Polish Romantic poet Juliusz Słowacki (1809–1849) wrote during his travels around Greece, Egypt, the Holy Land, and Lebanon in 1836–1837. Słowacki was a political émigré at the time and had been living in Western Europe, mainly France, Switzerland and Italy, for some years. On 24 August 1836, he set off from Naples for Otranto, then on to Corfu. After a short stay on Kerkyra, he sailed to Patras via Zante. He travelled around Greece on horseback from 10 September, visiting Vostizza (Egio), Mega Spileo Monastery, Tripolitsa, Nafplio, Argos, Mycenae, and Corinth.
