The earliest extant manuscripts containing the saga are a Norwegian fragment (NRA 65) from the early fourteenth century and two Icelandic manuscripts (AM 575 a 4to and AM 489 4to, edited in 1896 by Eugen Kölbing (1846–1899), who used the fifteenth-century AM 489 4to as his main text).
