In 2023, the work was reissued in an Icelandic classics book series, highlighting its importance in Icelandic literary history. The novel has also been translated into several languages and has gained significant popularity in Germany and France.
Sólskinshesturprimarily explores the profound consequences of growing up with parental neglect.
